Technology organizations and special partnerships create a unique competitive advantage for industries located in New Mexico. Commercialization programs between Metro New Mexico's national labs and private industry facilitate tech transfer projects. In addition, a host of venture funding opportunities and research parks and incubators

help bio-based companies compete in a global economy.

Research Affiliations

Center for Advanced Studies - University of New Mexico; State-funded center for excellence housed within the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Research focus is on tiny scales, intense fields, and complex systems.
Center for Global Environmental Technologies - University of New Mexico; Develops new technologies and engineering approaches to solve problems related to stratospheric ozone depletion and global warming.
Center for Micro-Engineered Materials - University of New Mexico; Hosts the National Science Foundation's Ceramic and Composite Materials Center. Research objectives are to understand and use molecular and near-molecular processes to synthesize improved ceramic materials with controlled composite structures at nano- to micro-length scales.
Earth Data Analysis Center - University of New Mexico; Provides services in geospatial data technologies.

We also offer a highly-qualified, skilled workforce, low utility rates, affordable business locations and an excellent transportation infrastructure.

Lumidigm Inc - Spinoff from InLight Solutions. Device identifies people based on their skin's optical properties. Recent development contract from Unisys Corp.
MIOX Corporation - Water disinfectant technology originally developed by Los Alamos Technical Associates. Was among 100 companies nationwide included in a top-100 list of the hottest private companies in green tech for 2007.
