Estancia Valley: We Grow BusinessesLocated in central New Mexico, the Estancia Valley spans Torrance and Southern Santa Fe Counties, and is home to several incorporated communities, including Edgewood, Estancia, Moriarty, and Mountainair. The valley's close proximity to the state's largest and fastest-growing metropolitan area, combined with an excellent highway system, attractive real estate prices, low tax rates, widespread broadband internet service, and a variety of settings, make the valley a prime location for enterprises of all kinds. The many recreational opportunities, from hiking and skiing in the nearby Manzano and Sandia Mountains, to soaring and general aviation in the valley, make the county an attractive place to live, work, and play. Thanks to the short distance to Albuquerque via Interstate 40, the Estancia Valley has become an attractive option for those seeking larger properties but desiring the amenities associated with a metropolitan area and its outlying communities. Growth in the area has attracted manufacturers, technology enterprises, retail establishments, restaurants, financial institutions, national supermarket and drugstore chains, consulting firms, and other ventures to the Valley. Upwards of 12 new subdivisions with 300-1000 units are slated for 2007. Expansion of the Moriarty Municipal Airport, soon to include a new crosswind runway, has made the Estancia Valley a prime location for aviation-related businesses. The area's proximity to national research institutions such as Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the Air Force Research Laboratory make it an excellent location for technology-based businesses of all kinds.
