SlideshowVerizon Finds Albuquerque's West Side Fertile for GrowthOver the past year, Verizon Wireless has added several hundred teleservice center jobs in Albuquerque. Recently Verizon took over a half-finished 180,000-square-foot half-finished Super K-Mart, a victim of that company's bankruptcy, on the city's West Side. Verizon, with the help of $22 million in industrial revenue bonds for construction and setup, is converting the store into a teleservice center that will employ 1400 people. The city has also committed $700,000 in infrastructure improvements for the site. |
