College of Santa Fe

The College of Santa Fe, founded in 1859, is a liberal arts college that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Over 1,900 students were enrolled for the Spring 2007 semester, with about 750 in the traditional program and 1200 evening and weekend students in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. College of Santa Fe:

Institute of American Indian Arts

Established in 1962, the Institute of American Indian Arts is a four-year fine arts college located in Santa Fe. The college serves Native students from across the country. In any given year, there may be up to 112 different tribes represented within the student body. The institute:

  • Offers four-year degrees in Studio Arts; Visual Communication; Creative Writing and Museum Studies
  • Has graduated more than 3800 students representing 90% of the tribes in the nation
  • Is the nation's only fine arts college devoted solely to the artistic and cultural traditions of all American Indians

Located in Santa Fe, St. John's College is a four-year liberal arts college, with an all-required course of study based on the reading, study, and discussion of the most important books of Western tradition. There are no majors and no departments; all students follow the same program. St. John's was founded in Annapolis, MD in 1696; the Santa Fe campus opened in 1964.

  • Students study from the classics of literature, philosophy, theology, psychology, political science, economics, history, math, laboratory sciences and music.
