With the goal to be green, Metro New Mexico is home to a cluster of solar energy and green technology startups and manufacturing companies that service these types of industries. Companies like Emcore Corporation, Array Technologies, Schott Solar, Fraunhofer CFV Solar Test Laboratory, Sacred Power, and Affordable Solar, now call Albuquerque home. Emcore, a solar photovoltaic and fiber optics developer and manufacturer, is one of many businesses located in the Sandia Science and Technology Park (a 200+ acre technology community), where they can take advantage of New Mexico’s growing technology-based workforce and advanced facilities. With attractive incentives, existing services, and the environmental conditions to accommodate solar and wind facilities, Metro New Mexico will continue to be a global leader in the solar and green technology fields.
